Welding is a tough career to follow, not many people stick with it till retirement. Props to you tig and by all means share some pics of your prior projects.

Best tool I ever bought was a Millermatic Challenger Mig Welder. Buy once cry once, and I've never regretted it.

While we're talking welding, how do you lay out your projects to in a home garage setting make sure that they end up perfectly flat?

I've found out through a few larger projects that my assumption that the cement floor in my garage was flat was mistaken.

If you had any tips on this, it would be really helpful.

I agree that Miller welders are perhaps the best overall machines. As for layout and fabrication, I never work off the floor. I have a very flat portable bench top I lay across horses. It works well for fitting and holding jobs square as it is large enough to measure corner to corner even on this job.
