My friend bought a new Cybertruck

Literally reading this post in my small hatchback in the work parking lot. Hope nobody sees me 🤣
I love a good hatchback.

The hate goes on...
Again if Musk wouldn't have said "It's the truck that can survive the apocalypse" " It can takevon anything. " I wouldn't point out how useless and dumb Cybertruck owners are. It isn't good off road, it has a lower payload and range than promised, the range extender is vapor ware, and hundreds of owners are still having problems that shouldn't have happened outside of testing. It's not hate it's pointing out a pointless expensive boondoggle.

Where did you get that statistic? Not from where I live …
I'm just saying you can see a truck not towing too. It wasn't a slight at truck owners so I didn't go after an exact number. It just doesn't matter how they're used which is why I don't think that should be a slight at the Cybertruck owner to not tow. I'm sure I see plenty of trucks especially in this area that also tow, but they aren't always towing. My buddy doesn't tow his boat to work, but he still drives the F150 most days.

I never towed with my truck. I miss having a bed though.

I don't understand many of you guys on here. I saw one of these trucks on the road and they are not for me, even if I could afford one. But I'm not pissing on anybody that can and do buy one. Good for them. They can do whatever they want with their money. I dont care why they buy it, it doesn't affect me at all. Do you all think differently about the owner of a Ferrary or a Lamborghini? Good for them also. How about the dually pickup trucks grocery getters that never tow anything? Do you scrutinize their owners the same as you do owners of electric vehicles? It is all the same, their money, they can waste them any way they can and it won't affect me one bit.

I am truly thankful that in this great country of ours we still have choices and means to do what we want. Let's enjoy the freedom and the choices we have while we still have them, without demonizing other people for theirs.
I like the tech in these trucks, like the 4 wheel steering and steer by wire, as well as the closable bed [edit: forgot the 48V low voltage architecture as well]. I might have considered buying one in 3 or 4 years when they cost a fraction of what they cost now, but man, these things look crazy/weird/stupid. I'm not sure I can get over the looks.

If they could just move the hump back about a foot and round off the edges, it might not be quite as bad? I need someone that's good at Photoshop (not me) to come up with something better so I can tweet it to musk.

If I had a bunch of money burning a hole in my pocket right now, today, and I wanted to buy an electric truck, I'd probably just go find the cheapest leftover 23 Lightning that I could find and offer them $20K less than sticker.

Same here. For the price some of the Lightnings are actually leaving for it would make it my first choice too. I've considered it. My local dealer didn't want to honor the typical discounts offered by most dealers. I live in a small town and I don't they do the kind of volume to feel comfortable giving those discounts. I walked away over $3k.

Realistically I'd just buy a second Model 3 if I wanted another EV cost wise, but the Lightning got my attention. The Cybertruck would get no consideration even without figuring in price, but I'm not buying a $100k vehicle as a daily driver anyway.

It's a "truck" for those who need to be special and do things like buy this, vote for foolish reasons, get meaningless tattoos, dress certain ways and numerous other things sensible people will never do.

My cousins nephew who bought the one I drove back in March:
Is an Attorney
Had a Tesla model 3 for years, wanted/needed a truck for some of his plans, and has used it as such.
Has no tattoos.
Dresses like the professional he is.
Based on the discussions I've had with him, votes with conservative values in mind...

Having a truck in the family does come in handy
