My friend bought a new Cybertruck

I knew he was interested in one but I was surprised when he told me he actually ordered one and it was delivered. He brought it over to my house and I checked it out.

First impressions; It's a lot smaller than I thought. I'm 6'5" and I can barely fit in the back seat without slouching and there is not a lot of leg room. Which is fine, I'm pretty tall and I don't fit in a lot of vehicles. Just for comparisons sake, in my other friend's Ram truck I can sit in the back seat and I have acres of room and can stretch out comfortably and I don't hit my head.

Also, there was a strong smell of adhesives. Enough so that it was giving me a headache after a while.

They put a part in the center console that needed to be installed by the end user, I'm not sure if they were short on parts at the factory and had to send it later or what.

The bed liner appears to be plastic.

I went on a short ride around the block, but I didn't drive it. It's the dual motor version but it is very fast. We got lots of looks, it's definitely an attention getter.

Would I buy one? Absolutely not. But I am glad to have had the chance to see one in person.

Some people love attention and I think that's the Cybertruck's best quality.

Strange coincidence, I saw one for the first time today, it drove past me on the highway going the opposite direction. I had to do a double take because it was a maroon-red color, but it had to be a Cybertruck because you simply can't mistake it for anything else. Somebody had it vinyl wrapped is the only conclusion I can come to.

Not surprising. Just look at the roofline.

I see them a lot. I kind of like looking at them but I need a real truck that I can actually use, like my ‘96 F250. They are an interesting case of out of the box thinking but not for me.

Rivian's also burn through tires fast. Rich people problems. That door already looks terrible from fingerprints.

My brother has one, Mom says it doesn't have a spark arrestor and he cant park it anywhere near the family ranch.

How ong did he wait to get his? People are now saying that if ordered they've been notified that they can pick theirs up the same week. What happened to Elons "There's a four year wait?" An article in jalopnik today said owners are seeing 6k miles on their tires.
