Conventional manual, 6 speed I think. They also offer a PDK, I think - 7 speed. Is there room for a medium size dog (25#) in the cabin?
Is it a conventional manual or a pdk manual?

This is a traditional 6spd and clutch. It is also strictly a two seater it has a trunk and a "frunk" and can hold quite a bit of groceries, luggage etc as long as it is soft sided and not excessively long. Think of a C3 corvette , actually the dimensions are pretty close to the 1980 corvette I once had. As for service it looks like the 911 are easier. Oil change easier on the 911 by far. I did the plugs on the 911 and they weren't bad you just need some odd length extensions if you want to get a torque wrench on each one. To service Cayman plugs and belt I believe you need to remove the engine cover which requires some interior disassembly. There is a video and it looks doable. As for a 25# dog as long as he is riding shotgun he will fit. At the 11:30 mark is a guy driving withhis buddy in video below:Conventional manual, 6 speed I think. You know, despite the Cayman being a rear-mid engined car - I have to wonder whether the service-items are actually more accessible than the service items in a 911. The sloped back of the 911 I think make service access poor. I think the front-end of the Cayman engine, i.e. for a serpentine belt change, and top of the engine for a plug change... are accessible by way of removable panels in the Cayman. I may be mistaken, but...
If I were looking for a Porsche (which I really do like) - I would have to give the Cayman a good look-see. Also the "frunk" is a surprisingly deep and decently large space...
Happy Birthday!
Fantastic car!
So, this is a 2.5L boxer 4, right? It would be interesting to compare this design to a Subaru boxer 4, to see what different paths Porsche and Subaru took to arrive at a similar engine.
What’s the HP & torque?
I had a WRX, which has been called a “poor man’s Porsche”.
who knows, I never thought I would own a Porsche but I always lived below my means and was a diligent saver always investing in the stock market in mutual funds and it payed off. In retirement I bought myself a gift.Congrats....
I wish I had the money to buy one.
Way to go.

You gotta sacrifice to have the nice things later on.who knows, I never thought I would own a Porsche but I always lived below my means and was a diligent saver always investing in the stock market in mutual funds and it payed off. In retirement I bought myself a gift.
Happy Birthday and congrats on your new ride! ??? How tall are you and please tell us how you fit in the Cayman.
It is a great car, and after reading about all the added tech of the flat four, it seems that Porsche did their homework as usual.
