I ordered a new 2021 Cayman S 1/15/2021 and it was delivered 4/28/2021 just in time for my 60th birthday. It is a manual shift, I wanted to get one last manual. The last time I drove a manual on a regular basis was 1982 when I sold my 1979 Z28. It has a 2.5 liter turbo which the porsche enthusiasts seem to hate since they have dropped the 6 cylinder in the base and S version of the car. It is a great little motor and has lots of torque starting around 1900rpm. What a great handling car I do believe the hype that the cayman handles better than the 911.

The interior is really neat. I've never seen a Porsche with tan and black seats, is this a new option?

97Prism..I believe it has been an option since 2017 but most dealers order black. I ordered options I wanted

OP (and Others): Interested in your thoughts re the PDK in your 991. Obviously lightening quick when your foot is in it... and the best programming of any of the dual clutch automated manuals out there. Do you drive it in manual? If left to its own devices does it upshift at a lower rpm than you or I would if the shift function were manual... and does it sound like it's lugging when these ultra low rpm upshifts are made? What do you REALLY think about PDK's?

The pdk n my 991 is fantastic it will shift to a higher gear to save fuel like a traditional auto but the engine never lugs. It will hold a lower gear once you get on it and not upshift as soon as you get off gas. I hardly manual shift it because it is that good. It truly the best of both transmissions. You will not be disappointed with a pdk

I would say daily driver pdk weekend toy manual shift

The Cayman really is a nice car... and I know exactly how you feel about a last chance to get a manual... Also, depending on what country/state/city you live in - to some extent I feel like it's almost one's last chance to get a gasoline powered car... (which I'm so enamoured with). What does the future hold...?

Well at least Porsche did a great job with their electric... {the Taycan(sp?)}.
