we're going to the home electronics store tomorrow to get a breadmaker. we will be baking bread form organic flour only.

yeah - costs the same as regular.

We also got some bread premixes - 10 pound bag, makes 10 loaves for $12, and 20 pound bag - makes 20 loaves for $18 (less than $1 per loaf). http://laucke.com.au/premixes.asp

Comparable quality bread in the shop is $3++, and the home made stuff does not have most of the additives shop bread has.

so far the machine works beautfully and the bread is great!

I haven't been very adventurous with our bread maker. Made some regular types, and the french bread is fabulous.

Counter space is at a premium, so it gets stored until bread fever hits. Fresh hot bread and butter is always a hit at our house, no matter the recipe.

I haven't tried the pizza dough for some reason. Perhaps this weekend...

we had some hits and misses in getting the ratio's right. I think because it is so humid here, we need to put a fair bit less H20 in. we palyed around and probably "wasted" 3 r 4 loaves getting the ratios just right, for white, we use 0.6, whole meal, 0.67, and about 0.7 to 0.75 for dark grains. If you look at the kneading time you can also judge whether there is too much moisture or too much flour.
