Mustard greens in a salad?

Noticed them near the regular salad supplies and got a few leafs. Can they be eaten raw? Never had them before. Took a bite and they have a peppery taste and a bit chewy. Just making sure there isn't something I don't know about them, like they are poisonous until cooked.
 
Non-poisonous raw. I'd look at baby spinach over mustard greens. Even kale taste better IMHO.

When my son had kidney stones they told him to totally avoid mustard greens because mustard is very high in oxalic acid content (about 20 to 50 times as much as other vegetables) and kidney stones are mostly composed of calcium oxalate.

This post is something of a Captain Obvious comment for anyone for whom it would matter because after one kidney stone you probably already know this information and have already gladly sworn off this insignificant green foliage if it will even remotely help avoid another stone..
 
Safe to eat unless you suffer from calcium oxalate kidney stones or if you are on a blood thinner. by the way, most people throw beet greens away. That's a mistake, they are quite good raw or cooked.
 
all those are "edible" but if you want raw find the packaged baby greens

Next up you try raw collards? :p

If you can get a package of mixed baby greens there are all sorts of non commercial greens you havent heard of that can be quite tasty esp. mixed together. They do better with a non creamy dressing IMO (no ranch,blue cheese etc)

I've had numerous stones and never heard about avoiding mustard greens. The only food I avoid for medical reasons is grapefruit and it's juice.

I dunno. Other websites list mustard, rhubarb and beet greens as the highest oxalic acid offenders. This is one - https://veganhealth.org/calcium-part-3/. I guess YMMV applies to greens too. We just thought it most odd that avoiding mustard was a specific instruction from the hospital urologist that treated my son.
