About the Super Bowl commercial with the frozen guy in the convertible, at the stoplight, does anyone else get a negative feel from it? My first thought was, "that mustang must have a very poor heater!", fueled by knowing about Fords recent major recall problems. And also, when they pan around to the front of the car, it appears as if the driverside headlight is burned out. I am sure this is an optical illusion, but reminds me of Fords "Jaguar" show car being introduced to the press at the Detroit car show, with a headlight burned out.
Pretty lame commercials this year in my opinion.

I liked the girl with the musical Pepsi bottle.

I liked the girl in the senate panel hearing.

I liked the girls in the Burt Reynolds commercial.

I liked the Tabasco girl.

The ones that made me laugh were the rush to judgment - the guy with the red sauce and cat and the guy on the cell phone in the mom and pop store. (can't remember the company!)

The interesting/funny one one with maybe a borderline product is the Olympus camera/music player - Asian guy do a computer enhanced dance - then show what are (I guess) his parents doing the dance!!

The car and truck commercials sucked. The Volvo V8 could have had more detail.....(same for Caddy)

I liked the one when the people in the airport cheered for the service members as they walked through the room. That was the best.

I thought it was a very good commercial. It seemed that a lot of ones were taking shots at us northerners.

Anyone see the California cheese one. I think I'll trust the experts for my cheese.

I found the Mustang convertible commercial to be revolting. The idea that someone freezing to death is funny does not register with me.

The one with the cat and the marinara sauce was pretty funny.

I thought the Budweiser ones were not up to prior years.

And it seemed to me that there were so many commercials in the first quarter, it probably affected the flow of the game for the players on the field.

I had the same thought, especially the commercial break after a Patriots turnover, when, after we got back, we understood the Patriots were challenging the call. Seemed a little odd. Especially after another turnover had a possession change, with no commercial break. Something fishy perhaps?

How about the "Blockbuster" ad, where the guy gets in his car and backs 20 feet to get his movie, from the mailbox. His wife tell him to drive carefully. After seeing it about the third time, I was hoping he would crash into a tree in his driveway. Now THAT would have been funny.

but it still would have been exactly like several others using the same idea: drive to the mailbox. I know a car maker used it once, and I seem to remember another.

I liked the Cadillac V Series commercial where the cars were shooting out of the tunnels like bullets from a gun. I thought that was very effective. Personally, I've sat inside a CTS-V and think it's definitely a worthy competitor for BMW and Mercedes. It seems like they've done a good job.

On a sort-of-related note, I had to move a new STS for work (long story there). There's NO IGNITION KEY. It's all proximity sensors now. All you do is sit down and press a button. Holy wah! I never anticipated the day when the ignition key would be obsolete.

I happen to like the Mustang commercial, but you have to be a fan of the movie Fargo to "get it". It nonetheless is a good commercial because you remember the PRODUCT. Can you remember the product or company name for the "cat and red sauce" ad or the "strapless congressional hearing" ones?

You must be refering to this article.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6876176/

I guess I wouldn't chalk this up as a major problem considering that only .00789% of the vehicles actually had a problem.

Only reason this made it on msnbc is because it involves the word "fire".

You have greater chances of starting your vehicle on fire at the gas pump.

I cant remember any of them. I tune out (mentally) during commercials. If there was ever an autozone commercial on tv that advertised gc for .99 per qt, It would go in one ear and out the other.

I liked that one too. FWIW I believe that was the military terminal at the Baltimore airport. I've been there. hundreds of soldiers in uniform with just their "C bag" getting ready to go or coming back from overseas. people do applaude you and buy you drinks all night.

I liked the pepsi truck commercial with p diddy. all those stupid hollywood types driving pepsi trucks to be cool.
