Must be some really good coolant

Went to my local honda dealer for a recall on our 2005 element. There hr. rate is$ 142.00 per ,they asked me if I would like a coolant flush and fill at $169.95 because of time I have done it a few times it holds a whole 2 gallons total !

Dealer wants $425 for my Ford pickup PSD. But it has two complete cooling systems.

That's why I do as many repairs & maintenance on our vehicles as possible myself. I hate paying way out of line prices for things that I can easily do myself.

Here in the UK the law says you can take your car to any qualified and tax registered garage for maintenance, you don't have to go to a dealer. But you can't DIY it either and expect to keep your warranty.

While my car is in warranty I just buy the parts myself and go to a good independant. But paying someone to do something I can do myself really grinds my gears.

With a 2005, other than the recall, I would be doing ZERO business at the dealership. That has good/honest indy shop written all over it.
