Well I lost my old SOG multi tool, shopping around for a new replacement, found a Gerber Truss (black), ($38.00) was really impressed. Still looking for a second one, wondering if the Harbor Freight Gorden multi tool or the Guidesman overload are any good (low price point), just for general use,,,any thoughts ???

I bought a Gerber for my daughter before she left for her camp counselor job. It had the best balance of size and usefulness (not too many useless gadgets). The quality is great and it was overall a pretty good value. I can't speak to the HF offerings but didnt want to skimp on quality just to save a few $$, in case they are subpar.

Of course, Leatherman is the Cadillac of multi tools if money's no object.

If you care, it’s worth double checking the country of origin as only a few Gerber tools are still made in USA.

I think it’s currently prime day in US so might some good prices on Amazon at the moment.

I can't comment on the Harbor Freight multi tool. What I can comment on is my Victorinox Swiss Tool Spirit X that I love about as much as any tool I've ever held in my hand. I seriously doubt it would disappoint you, even though its a good bit more expensive than the one you lost or the ones you're considering from HF. At least give the Victorinox a look. It's currently on sale for $110 on Amazon.

I gave my old Gerber to my son. It's fully functional but not nearly as refined as the Victorinox. I admit, I'm a fanboy.

Leatherman is sort of out of the budget, the wave 2 is a fantastic multitool, I do have a Victorinox tinker, which is really good picket knife.
