I recently got a UOA for my Motul 300V 5W-40 oil and it had an oxidation value of 31 abs/cm. Does anyone know what the virgin 5w-40 300v starts at?
Thanks

Try asking Motul, in my experience of looking at recent Motul oil analysis, it's not very high, though I would expect the 300V series to have slightly higher oxidation values.

For the 8100 type oils I've seen it's about 13.

On the other hand, if the oil hasn't increased in viscosity I wouldn't worry about it. Oxidation is the reason oils thicken.

Oxidation by FTIR peak can be tricky if there is another species present that masks or overlays it.

I sent an email over to Motul and I'll wait for their reply. Visc @100C was 12.9 cst and fuel dilution was 2.9%. Not sure if it thinned out and re thickened or just the oil's esters just elevated the oxidation measurement.
There shouldn't be too many other oils in there. This is the 3rd or 4th 300V oil change on this car.

It was 41 on an old Russian Oil Club VOA I think, but it may not be the current formulation.
