Got rid of the HP Touchpad some time ago. Recently, DailySteals had the 10" XOOM with Tegra2 CPU, 32GB RAM, dual cameras and Verizon 3G for $199 refurb.
A few automatic updates later, it's running Android 4.0.4 (ICS). The tablet itself is nicely built. The OS is solid, apps work reliably. Nook & Kindle apps are great on this little unit for book reading.
The difference in the tablets is app features & parity to the iOS platform. For example, no "Matching With Friends" game on the Android platform at all. And TuneIn Radio does not offer the option to use your own web streaming URL's where as the iOS version does.
a bit off topic...And TuneIn just dropped many Cumulus radio stations such as AM890/WLS out of Chicago and WVNN out of North Alabama, both had good talk line-ups, making TuneIn Radio less helpful. XiaaLive and A Online Radio allow for custom URL links.
Back on topic, Once app developers figure out how to use properly place fonts on an Android tablet, it will look every bit as Lexus-like as the iPad.
There are some really nice tablet apps though. TweetCaster and Weatherbug for Honeycomb look much nicer as they're written for the larger screens.
All in all, a solid unit, easier on the eyes than ipad 1 or 2. Time will tell if it will last.
