I was at the Ford dealership the other day and saw a sign saying that they now offer the new Motorcraft fully synthetic 5w30. Anybody know anything about this oil?

I'd like to know more about this oil, too. It's given a very brief mention on the Motorcraft web site, but no specifics.
Ford told us NOTHING except that it would make us more money! Really? Actually, a total of two customers have asked for it despite all that point of purchase advertising.
And Ford/Lincoln-Mercury dealers have the stuff with no briefing from the reps, no pep rally, no real reasons that it would work better in your car beyond what appears on the bottle. I think it's part of preparing everyone for the longer drain intervals now specified for the newest 3.5 engine family.

Because its a new offering to most of the USA, BITOG may not get any used oil analysis on it until around July. We're still waiting on used oil analysis with the new Havoline Deposit Shield. That one has been on store shelves for 2-3 months now.
How do they define fully synthetic? I don't know if Conoco has any PAO oil or if a it's Group III "synthetic". If you don't run anymore than 5,000 miles OCI's in anything but short hops then the Motorcraft synblend will most likely perform just as well at a lot lower cost. Just my

The Motorcraft 5W-20 & 5w30 Full Synthetic have probably been out on the market since 2005. People ask about it, but the availability seems to be limited to Ford Dealerships.
It is a Grp III synthetic, per the MSDS Sheet , and as wgtoys indicated, the data sheet for the Phillips 66 syn is the closest match on the internet.

It seems a little odd to me that Motorcraft doesn't offer a 5W-20 synthetic since the vast majority of Ford vehicles have specified 5W-20 for quite a few years. I don't think Ford Motorcraft is even a little bit serious about being the in the synthetic motor oil marketing business.

They do offer 5W-20. That's all Chinamart carries in my neck of the woods.
A 5W-20 synthetic? Are you sure you're not thinking of the semi-synthetic?
I've only seen the semi-synthetic Motorcraft at the wal-marts i've been to.
Seen it somewhere (not a my dealership though). The only synthetic they are serious about is 5W-50 for the Shelby 500 and Ford GT.

Oh, a 5W-20 full synthetic is available, along with a 0W-30.
