Motorcraft Fl500s cut open

2014 Ford Police 3.7L. This filter was installed at the dealer after a warranty repair. It was used with Motorcraft 5w20 for 4,000 miles. I replaced it with another Fl500s and schaeffer oil. Not trying to start a fight but this is the nicest Motorcraft filter I’ve personally seen after hard use.

That looks like a quality filter. I wonder what the filter media would be however...

The FL-500S always seems to look well made ... better than some other Motorcraft filter models. Thanks for the C&P.

Looks good. Maybe that's why the FL500S is about $2 higher than the other Motorcrafts at WalMart.

My experience is different , at one time I cut one and found the filter media undone ( not glued ) to the top of the filter , the filter media had glue on it, the metal cap too however the werent glued together... since that time only TG 10575 goes in my truck , so far the 3.5 seems happy , and the glue seems to stick more between the media and the .... cardboard .... end cap

You haven't opened up too many FL-400S filters, have you? They look just as good, or better, than the FL-500S.
And, IMHO, there's nothing wrong with the 820S. Too many "5 MINUTES OF FAME" people in this world!

The 400, 500 & 910 (aside from the somewhat recent ADBV being cut) usually look great.
