Motorcraft FL-910-S C&P

I have two Ford vehicles. The only Motorcraft oil filter that I will use is the FL-2062A.
The other Ford uses the FL-910S or equivalent. I will never use a FL-910S on that car.

I have this topic MC filter on my truck now, used to be the best deal on the market for $4. I cut open two puros a One and a red and there were serious black glue problems. I think I posted pics. Then came the Boss sale of sales and I will be using that, PBL10241. No black glue. Has weight to it, USA made. Best looking media under a microscope I have seen for a full synthetic.

Does it have louvers?

What are you going to do when you cut one open after it's been used and find these issues with your own eyes?
Simple will call the dealer. I Will tell them to send her a brand new one. And I will send the other one back on the tow truck that delivers the new one. Easy peasy.

Strong optimism bias. Not sure why you’re so persistent on defending the MC filters. We have nothing to gain by telling the truth - in fact, it’s very unfortunate, and I wish they would return to their former quality. The FL910s was at one point unbeatable value, and I used them for around a decade.

Dealer isn't going to give out a new one based on a used cut open oil filter. Yeah, you might need a tow truck. 😄
Did you ever consider there are some people with considerable wealth?Or just make assumptions.I would never think that that's ridiculous. I write a check for a new one and they can sell the other 1 or keep it.Money's not an object to some people.

I don't know where are Getting these conclusions. No bias no persistence no defense. Just an observation of the three oil filters I cut open and was shown pictures of defective ones. That is obviously not the conclusion I have from the filters that I have opened. I guess there's no possibility they could have changed the filter in the last year. Maybe you're facts are biased by youtube videos lol.

There's no consistency in the Motorcraft production quality. Just because you got 3 what you consider "good ones" doesn't mean the 4th or 5th one will also be good.

Plenty of members here have posted junk Motorcraft filters that they themselves have cut open. And yes, there's also a lot of them shown on YouTube with issues. Motorcraft has been pretty much junk quality lately. I stopped using them, not going to risk my motor on them when there are much better quality made filters available.

You continue to pound your point to me that the filters are junk. Your members posted pictures of f l 820 filters. These are not those filters. All I did was post pictures of three cut open that were not as described by you and others as extra glue and holes in the media. Convince yourself , otherwise , I didn't ask for any opinion. I just simply posted three filters that were not as described as junk as you have. Quite simple understanding. Have a good night.

Generally speaking, the 910S one of the better Motorcraft applications. This one would qualify. Unfortunately they've more than doubled in price from their former <$4 price. Nonetheless, this one looks to have done nicely at 6k miles.

Thanks for c&p.
Yes, even during the days of the worst of their larger filters …
At one time they were cheap enough where I’d cut one of new twins …
For the price - Fram TG would be my pick now …
(I actually have a good OG stash though) …

Guess you're blind from fanboyism. There were FL910S examples show in the links and videos shown in this thread. Fact is it doesn't matter what Motorcraft filter model it is, they can all suffer from shedding junk black glue, torn media and closed louvers. Maybe you get lucky, maybe you don't. Have fun with the crap shoot, lol.

These MC are made by Purolator, and I cut a couple Purolator brand open with black glue issues recently. They used to be ok. It could be the line supervisor retired, many baby boomers are aging out of work. It could be automation. If you want a Purolator USA made filter, try the Boss, it uses a better glue. I think the filtration will be top notch too.

Thank you fair enough. Good information. My wife's Turbo all wheel drive.Maverick is just her toy. Plus it keeps her from driving her escalade or my raptor. She already wants the new 26 lobo maverick. It takes a different oil filter. And the ford filters are fine for both the raptor and the maverick. I only keep vehicles while they're under warranty. I don't have to worry about that.Because my grandson is heavy line at a major ford dealer. We all know how that works even with mods. To the vehicle . No such thing as a denial. The filters I receive are free from the dealer.
