Motorcraft 5w20 - New Formulation?

Same product data sheet, same specs. Interestingly the 3 voa I've seen, consistently have KV100C @ ~54 cSt and KV40C @ 8.4 cSt rather than the 50 & 8.7 cSt posted on the PDS. I believe the bulk oil is blended by Conoco while the quarts are done by Excelda. Not sure of this, got it from a Motorcraft publication that mentions it but not too specific.

I guess it doesn't matter, Ford/Motorcraft is still all good. Worrying too much about motor oil.
 
I always avoid anything that needs alot of explaining. Ever notice how politics always needs alot of explaining? If you cannot be sure go somewhere else. Ford did not go into all that debt by being smart.

I was wondering the same thing Ben. The correct answer would be, Chevron is the one that "invented" hydrocracking oil.


Hydrocracking was discovered by the German's around 1920 if my memory is correct.
