So I picked some Motorcraft Power Stroke oil in the 15W40 CJ-4/SM flavor and noticed that it was also CI-4 PLUS rated. Is it really rated as both? If it is, does that mean it is a better oil than other current CJ-4 oils? It's also only $9.82 for a 5 qt jug at Walmart. Also, have any of you had good results with the current Powerstroke oil? Thanks.

We used it all the time at ford dealership. Seemed to do no wrong. Never seen oil issues. Just fuel issues.
It's a CJ-4 oil. The "CI-4 PLUS" designation in the bottom of the donut identifies oils formulated to provide a higher level of protection against soot-related viscosity increase and viscosity loss due to shear in diesel engines.

I've currently got this stuff in my Yamaha FJR and so far I've been impressed with it! Got the Motorcraft 15w40 on closeout at Walmart for $1.49/qt.
