Should I replace the rear torque mount?

I have already removed it once. Cleaned out some gravel from the rubbers and brackets, and looked at it real close. Didn't see any damage, but some idle vibrations are still being transmitted to the floor. Do you think a new torque mount would eliminate that vibration?

The engine runs very smoothly now with the 5w-20 and the spark plugs are new.

Can't imagine a motor mount in any '05 car to be worn out yet, unless the car has been severely abused.

Maybe it was abused before I bought it used with 35,000 miles on th clock.

Anyway, can a motor mount be bad even though there's no visual damage?

Zetec 2.0 liter? There is no balance shaft, and will vibrate at idle.

I would imagine a new mount would transmit more vibrations than the old one.

I'm pretty sure worn or damaged motor mounts don't absorb engine vibration for some reason. When the rubbers get soft and deformed more vibration is transmitted to the car.

On my other car the mounts were SO worn out that it GROWLED when I backed up and when I decelerated on the highway. I replaced one then two of the 3 mounts and now it drives LIKE NEW again!
