Hi guys,

I saw Motomaster dino, at Canadian tire. it's 3.50 a liter right now!

I've heard more than once that it's suspiciously similar to Formula shell. If so, probably not a bad price without a Costco membership.

How would it stack up against the bigger names?

It's not a bad oil. The motomaster full synthetic is better (it usualy goes on sale on Black Friday in Ontario for less than $25 for a 5 liter jug). Not sure about pricing out west.

I prefer to go for Pennzoil Platinum when it's on sale. It was on sale last week for $31 and change for a 5 liter jug with a $10 mail in coupon attached to the jug.

Regards, JC.

I have used Formula 1 conventional and it was definitely better than Canadian Tire's Supreme [red bottle] conventional oil. I would say it's one of the best conventional oils.

It's good stuff, made by Shell. As you've surmised probably the same a Formula Shell.
But with your bitter winters, if you're doing any extreme cold starting of a car sitting outside I might spring for the synthetic version that often goes on sale for little more.

Sorry, I got the Synthetic version for $17.99 a 5L jug Boxing Day. Bought 6 of them, still haven't tried it as I am using older stuff out of my stash.
