Mine would do this on the same stretch of freeway, they patched a chunk of asphalt and it went from light gray, to black, to light gray. Was pretty scary the first time it happened.
Yes, you can turn off forward collision alert/braking.Can you disable that feature.
They are already on that path. All the assisted driving nannies are making people become more and more disconnected from actually using their brain to drive, and instead focus on other things (like phone usage while "driving") because they are slowly putting more and more "trust" in the car to do the "driving". Even car commercials reflect this aspect. The downside of it is that we as humanity may become too lazy to think for ourselves.
They may be able to make a fly that has all the moves of a fly, but never be a fly with a brain that thinks. While todays computers can not think, in the future computers will reach a point where the speed combined with vast amounts of memory and vast amounts of programing will not only enable computers to make decisions emulating thinking but also out thinking humans both in terms of capability and speed.
Collision alert like that isn’t so bad as false collision braking. Especially to a stop. The new company Transit has it too-a splash of water from a puddle hits the windshield at the wrong angle, the collision alert goes nuts. It's done it at 2 MPH in a parking lot... Glad to see Ford doesn't have an excusive on stupid ideas!

that "feature" can be turned off. my 19 did it to me twice. so i pulled over and found a way to disable it. and the adaptive CC is off also. so it's like a normal car again. This was one thing that made me get rid of my 2020 Accord, same thing happened to me a couple of times and it scared the you know what outta me.
Simply can't agree with that realistically happening... regardless of how advanced some things in life might become do remember that it's still human thought process designing/building what does become available. While todays computers can not think, in the future computers will reach a point where the speed combined with vast amounts of memory and vast amounts of programing will not only enable computers to make decisions emulating thinking but also out thinking humans both in terms of capability and speed.

Companies incorporating this sort of garbage will not get my business, especially the lame auto industry. Simply won't have a car trying to drive, swerve, brake for me. Don't even trust cruise control which is the most wasted 'feature' in any vehicle.
While it may not happen in our life time, there probably will come a time when vehicles have no steering wheel, brake petal, gas petal, or any thing else the occupants, will have to intreact with during transit to guide the vehicle. And if all vehickes that are made are like that it will be only a matter of time until vehicles that did not have those features are too old to keep on the road.Simply can't agree with that realistically happening... regardless of how advanced some things in life might become do remember that it's still human thought process designing/building what does become available.
