More Specific Purpose for Running 10W-30

I currently drive a 2003 Lincoln Aviator I did my oil change about 3 weeks ago I went from Mobil 1 high mileage full synthetic 5w30 to motor craft 5W-20 Synthetic Blend. I've seen in previous posts that many people would put 10w30 oil in there car during the summer and 5w30 during the winter days. My truck has low miles for its year and I've noticed that it probably used up a quart last time I did an OC I went 5500 miles on my OCI and since I'm just outside of Chicago Summers here get pretty hot. Would me changing to 10w30 have any effect on my SUV? Any engine damage? Performance? I am aware all ford vehicles need the MC 5W-20 but I'm debating to give it a try. Because in Mid may IMA do an oil change from MC to Quaker State Ultimate Durability 5W-20 but want a better understanding of the whole 10w30 oil. I currently have the MC oil and oil filter previously had the Mobil 1 High Mileage Full Synthetic. With a Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil Filter. Any personal experience, information, advice would be appreciated

You won't know the difference. Don't really see any benefit though, either. Just stick with mfg. recommendations and you can't go wrong.

I think you could run any of the oils in any of the viscosities listed in your post and be fine. Since it seems to go through a little oil, I'd stick with the Mobil 1 High Mileage if it were mine. Moreover, CATERHAM makes a pretty convincing case that 10W30 Full Synthetic is an outmoded viscosity.

No. No harm unless it drops below freezing. That's the only time you will see a major difference between 5W-xx and 10W-xx. The only benefit is the 10W-xx oil has fewer additives to varnish the metal when it gets hot.

By the way you should look at the datasheets.
I was surprised to discover that Mobil 1 10w30 is actually thinner than 5w30 (when the engine is cold). You can't go just by the SAE numbers but need to look at actual viscosities. (Also: Why the switch from 30 weight to 20 weight oil? Probably a bad move unless the Lincoln's manual says it's okay.)

Should I stick with the MC or give Quaker State Ultimate Durability a try. On my other 2 cars I just switched from Mobil 1 High Mileage Full Synthetic to QS Defy and I felt a difference using QS and I like how it drives. Quaker State Ultimate Durability has 5W-20 so I'm also considering that oil with maybe a Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil filtrr

I was planning to but their was only 30 instead of 20. Can that harm my engines?

Run 5W30 year round .

Yes running the same oil yearround keeps things simple. And the thicker weight is what is recommended in Europe (where there's no silly government-minimum MPG requirement).
