It's the only way for most companies to maintain service and remain competitive. The domestic customer service for Verizon keeps shrinking as they continue to offer more and more stuff that they used to charge premiums for ..but now off it for the same basic charges. I've looked at most of the offerings, and they're all about the same ante for the minimum service level that I require. The value just gets better (but I don't see the value to it to the amount that it costs, period). The only way to provide the same profits with less revenue is to cut jobs in CS. Bundled like I am, I got an Encore number that's supposed to directly connect me to the human that can handle my issue. I now get the robot lady whose voice recognition software needs a tweak or two ..and she NEVER offers options for the particular problem/issue that I have.
