Anyone know who makes Chrysler's Mopar Filters?

Been using Napa Golds but i have the lifetime Warranty on my truck and if i have to go in for something I don't want them flipping a [censored] when i have a napa filter on there.

The filters are inexpensive and are right in wal-mart where i buy all of my oil so its more convenient for me to get the Mopars anyway but just wanted to make sure that they are a quality filter.

Right now Purolator makes the Mopar oil filters. They are very good quality filters. There shouldn't be any trouble at the dealer with your Napa Gold filter. That is a very good filter too, one of the best you can buy.

I used to work in the Service Department at a Chrysler-Jeep dealer. When the parts guys were out of Chrysler/Mopar filters they would hand you a Napa Gold. So I doubt the dealer would say anything about you using a Napa Gold.

I would think the dealer would commend you for using a great filter and keeping your oil changed on schedule.

Like all "OEM" expendables, the supplier changes periodically. They were Wix for many many years, but I stopped following who makes them since its usually easier for me to just buy Wix or Purolator in their own branding rather than in Mopar branding.

I honestly don't know.

Our Chrysler uses the Ford style FL400S filter so no one stocks the Mopar variant.

It's kind of a tight fit between the engine and oil cooler where it is mounted. Some brands fit better than others. Maybe I should try the Mopar.

The problem I have with Mopar filters is the price/performance. At Wal-Mart, they are $5 and some change. I can buy the MC FL820S (which would be a superior filter) for considerably less ($3.67?). I've been using MC or Napa Gold on mine.

Agreed. I use the Motorcraft FL1-A on my 5.7 Hemi. A word of caution though. Chrysler went to a metric thread on their oil filters in 2008 so the FL1-A will not fit on '08 and up.

Wix I'm sure is a great filter although in my last filter i found a massive piece of metal that looks like thread shaving inside the filter it was about 3/4 of an inch long and deff would of did some damage to my oil pump.

The FL820s is the bang for the buck choice for the metric threads.... Its got a lot going for it including the silicone ADBV

Depends on the application...the Cummins filters were rebadged Fleetguard filters.
