MOPAR to bring back the Barracuda?

So far, if they pull this off, I am liking everything Fiat is doing with Chrysler.

Growing up in the 90's, I viewed Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth as old Granny cars with a few exceptions (Dodge Trucks, Jeeps etc)...

IMO the new Challenger was a bit of a disappointment. Hopefully they're a bit more on-the-ball with this.

This would be a heated battle, Look up Pontiac Trans AM/Firebird Concepts too.

I'd buy a GT500 Mustang or a Mopar/Dodge Vehicle before I owned a Government Motors vehicle though

The SRT division will handle any of the "off brand" models. There was talk of a Road Runner model too.Obviously without Plymouth, they would be SRT models.

As I am sure they (Chrysler-Fiat) still owns the namesakes for all Plymouth cars.

Just no more Prowlers...

Your Ok with Dodge taking money, but not GM? How?

IDK, Not going political on this.
GM gets money to avoid Bankruptcy
as did Chrysler

I'd first go with a Ford, to be honest
and would have to throughly go through a GM or a Chrysler car.

I know Ford outsources to other countries, every company does on some level.

I just dont respect GM or Chrysler for taking US Money to avoid bankruptcy, and still having cars assembled/made in mexico/canada

Camaros are assembled in Canada.
as are Challengers.
as are some Fords.

Atleast Ford handled the almost broke-ness by selling the name and rights of the Fseries and the Mustang, not look for a handout.

I'm still of the opinion that Ford should have done something special with the Mustang before dropping the axe on Mercury. Retro-style a front fascia and special sequential taillights for the Mustang. Add on some unique Cougar badges and interior fabrics. Voila'! 2010 Mercury Cougar.
The cost would have been minimal and that excess cost could have been rolled into the price of a limited production "special" car.

Similarly, GM could have done this with the Holden Monaro before giving a storied marque like Oldsmobile the axe. I think you would have had to change the roofline on the Monaro for a successful retro 442 though and that would have been expensive.

At least GM gave us one last GTO (and G8) before euthanizing Pontiac. (even if they were visually almost indistinguishable from Grands Prix)

oh and to add to my last post, I'd only contemplate a Challenger, Charger, Dart OR Dakota, I cant stand any other in Dodges lineup, never been a fan of Ram Trucks.

Though thats personal (Mum used to drive a F-150, Dad used to drive a Ram Dualie, Dad was a jerk, havent seen him in almost 15 years, but when I do, I will get that child support he never paid with a swift kick)

I wish Chrysler(Fiat)wasn't doing this. I am a MOPAR guy from way back and I always preferred the Plymouth offerings to the Dodge ones. Give me the Road Runner, Super Bird, GTX, and Cuda over the Charger, Daytona, Super Bee, and Challenger. Just preferred the appearance of the Plymouths more for some reason. My favorite has always been the Road Runner.

IMO the Plymouth Muscle car names should be allowed to rest in peace unless Plymouth is brought back( won't happen ). It is almost an afront to God to make a Dodge `Cuda or Road Runner. No I say!

Perhaps for you personally, but they sell like hot cakes with no discounting. I would agree insofar as they are HUGE but their content is greater than any of the so-called 'pony cars' out there today. Plus they get surprising mileage in the real world. Interesting to note that even in full on SRT8 trim they still don't handle like the LX series cars do.

The SRT Cuda will have a 300+ hp boosted four banger with Multi-Air, which means excellent economy and SRT type performance. If the price is right this could be a real sleeper of a deal.

Sure looks good!

My dealer was willing to discount Challenger R/T's a few thousand off MSRP. I just still wasn't too comfy w/ the price and it didn't help that the very same guy double-crossed my best friend from high school 20 yrs ago when he went to buy his first new car...

I don't care if they bring back the 'Cuda but I wish it were another retro rendering instead of looking like a bad concept car from Back to the Future II.

The economy is in the toilet, national debt $16 trillion+, most families struggling, unemployment super high, gas prices super high...does the country really need another gas guzzler?

Why is Chrysler often so out of touch?!?

Because customers line up to buy the cars as soon as Chrysler makes them.
