I'm looking into replacing the front struts (with KYBs) on my Pathfinder and will be replacing strut mounts at the same time. I've read that it's common for KYB strut mounts to fail in the experience of other Pathfinder owners. Does anybody have any experience with Moog strut mounts? At ~$46 per side, they are quite a bit cheaper than the ~$70 per side for new OEM parts.

I haven't had experience with Moog strut mounts, but I have with many of their other suspension components. I've been very happy with their products.
A few years ago i would have just said yes Moog is the best use with confidence,end of story. But not anymore.
Many of their parts are dropping drastically in quality especially those with rubber components, mounts, bushings, boots, etc are all iffy, maybe fine maybe not depending on where it was made.
They are still selling the sizzle but the steak has long been taken off the grill.
Raybestos Pro (Spicer) or Sachs would be on the short list with OEM for my money.

As recently as 5 years ago I could have trusted Moog to give me a quality part. Now I have to open the box and check!

Moog is owned by Federal Mogul,they bought it and Anco (and Wagner brake,Wagner bulbs....etc) from Cooper Industries years back.I'm not big on FM and some of their habits,but as with everything nowadays...everything is getting cr-ap-pier and cr-ap-pier.5 years from now it will be impossible to find a good quality part...OEM or otherwise.

It might be worth it to email the companies to find the countries of origin on the parts. I've emailed a lot of parts companies (including Moog) with a part number and all but one have quickly told me the country of origin.

Not a bad idea although i bought a pulley a few months ago that had "Made in Canada" on the box and the bearing which really does the work and is the part that fails had "Made in China" clearly stamped on it.
I guess the plastic and the box were Canadian. Its not going to get any better.

Ive had good and bad experiences with them. We were using them for upper control arms for most audis and Vws because they were made in USA and noticeably havier duty than some of the other options. ALso, when used on a few customers American cars, they always were made in the USA, which is a large factor for me as well. Lately, as others have said, its usually "Made in the USA with foreign and domestic components." I think like stated, Id go with Sachs or Raybestos. MADE IN USA on the box.....

Amazon doesn't seem to carry it; I was going to order from there originally since it was several dollars cheaper than RockAuto (after 5% discount of course) but it looks like I'll be ordering from RA. Oh well, no big deal!

Throwing in my 2 cents, just replaced my rear wheel bearings/hubs (one piece) and ordered Moog from RockAuto and they did not fit. Had to go by the local autozone in the middle of the job and picked up Timkens and their were SFKs in the box. Timkins were made is USA where Moog was made in China.

Actually, it probably said "Made in the USA with foreign and domestic components," "Assembled in the USA" or something similar.
FTC regulations say that products labeled only "Made in the USA" must be "all or virtually all" made of domestic materials in the USA.

Well, I have had recent experience with Sachs for the old Audi, and am quite happy with them.
