I'm am currently using Mobile 1 synthetic 10w30, now they have a Mobile super synthetic, question is can the two be mixed? or can you alternate between the them , and still maintain the protection. Thanks for the info in advance.

The simple quick answer is, "Yes."

Any 10W03 oil sold in Auto Parts, Walmarts, etc. (if that is what your car engine calls for) will "maintain protection", if it is also used accordingly (i.e. driven without abuse).
Alternating will be okay.

By the way, it is Mobil 1.

Good Day,
Steven

yes you can mix any oils of the same viscosity together with no problems. doesn't even matter what brand they are. you could mix your mobil 1 10w30 with Advance Auto 10w30 and it would be perfectly fine.

What he was trying to tell you is that there is no "e" in Mobil.

In general I agree with you, except when your spelling makes you look silly, or when it abruptly makes the reader pause and go

Good Day,

Alternating sometimes increases consumption. When it does you will be tempted to change back to the previous oil, early. But if you don't mind topping off, go ahead and alternate.

that is a nice welcome we gave the new member!!!

retprcs welcome to bitog!
no one really knows anything about mobil super yet because its so new, but you can USUALLY mix oils with out problem, BUT IN THIS CASE IT ITS UNKNOWN. because both oils are made by the same manufacturer and they are both synthetic they should be compatible. that being said it will not harm your engine to change oil brands from time to time. for example my wife's explorer has had 5 different oils used in its life so far and its as clean as the day it was built. runs very well too i might add.

You can mix different viscosity oils too, for that matter. Whether or not that's desirable is another issue entirely and depends on what you aim to achieve.

Since both are Mobil products, there's little likelihood that you'll have any problems what so ever.

Stay with the same or similar weights(Ya, I know) as has been mentioned.

+1, welcome to BITOG.

Mobil vs Mobile is just one of those things that seem to set everyone off around here. Kind of like 3000 mile oil changes.

Mobil 1 is marketed as a more premium product so best guess is that Mobil Super Synthetic might good for a little shorter OCI. So mixing the two would likely result in something in between.
