Thanks for that information. I typically buy the filter + 5qt combo for the wife's CRV hybrid, and it doesn't seem to care what I put in it really.

Good question, Mobil shows (SP ETR) which is (Engine Test Requirement). That would appear that it meets that specification but Mobil is not showing the API SP license on that product. Mobil 1 ESP 0w-30 is positioned as a Euro oil & has no API approvals so they must not be wanting to pay the API on this product.Not to veer way off topic; but why is the M1 0w30ESP not SP rated? Mobil1 only skips approvals or certification if there is something that is not compatible.
Mobil1 is very punctual with approvals. If it is not there, something is stopping it from acquiring a license/certification/approval.The other SP ETR marked oil is FS 5W-30.
