that's correct, but you can definitely go over 10k with this oil

Is this worth buying over M1 0w-20 AFE or EP?

I typically buy the filter + 5qt combo for the wife's CRV hybrid, and it doesn't seem to care what I put in it really.

Thanks for that information. I speculate that the oil will go for as long as OEM requires but that is different then putting the common "10,000 Miles Guaranteed" claim on the front of their label. 10k on this 0w-20 should get interesting.

AFE, You have a Hybrid for a reason (fuel economy).

Good question, Mobil shows (SP ETR) which is (Engine Test Requirement). That would appear that it meets that specification but Mobil is not showing the API SP license on that product. Mobil 1 ESP 0w-30 is positioned as a Euro oil & has no API approvals so they must not be wanting to pay the API on this product.

I know. Point is that positioning it towards a Euro product can have some merit (no need for API approvals). You or I don't know why they've truly decided not to though. If we get a statement from Mobil then that would clarify the why.

The other SP ETR marked oil is FS 5W-30. That one probably because of phosphorus levels. I agree there must be something keeping this oil from license. At least you know it passes the engine test requirements for SP.

Mobil1 is very punctual with approvals. If it is not there, something is stopping it from acquiring a license/certification/approval.
