It's been SP rated for more than a year I believeTouche. Apparently the page hadn’t finished loading whilst I was outside changing my engine air filter. xD
CorrectBut "SP rated" isn't the same as having an API license, for example the oil does not show up on the API EOLCS Directory unless I'm missing it somehow.
We did have a discussion about what "engine test requirements" means and IIRC it means that out of the two sets of requirements (bench and engine) it was not shown to comply with the bench requirements. What parts and why are not known. It could be anything from some physical property or some chemical aspect. Regardless it's not something I care about since an API license is not why I buy the oil.
Indeed, it's one of the best oils money can buy. Where I see 229.52 approval I could care less for an API licence as well. But "SP rated" isn't the same as having an API license, for example the oil does not show up on the API EOLCS Directory unless I'm missing it somehow.

Did you also see it?[back on topic] Saw this M1 0w20 Dexos-D rated at my Walmart the other day also. Picked up the bottle to feel it. Wanted to take off the top and smell it, but I think WallyWorld might not appreciate me breaking the seal.
A look at the PDS shows the oil to be formulated with 880 ppm phosphorus. This is above the 800 ppm limit set by the API for SP oils of that weight. Another case of an oil being too good for the API.But "SP rated" isn't the same as having an API license, for example the oil does not show up on the API EOLCS Directory unless I'm missing it somehow.

#11 - Never break open jug seals to indicate smell inside WM stores.
You can only do it at your nearest Wally World with Great Value Supertech Milk, excluding Chocolate.
