Mobil synthetic OCI

How long should I go before changing the oil in:
1. (160k)Taurus 12-14k a year
2. (70k)Grand Caravan 20k a year

Just finished Auto-rx in both. Used Mobil 1 systhetic. Do I go by months or miles when considering OCI?

6 months on each should be about right, assuming you've done a used oil analysis and all is well with the engines.

A year on both sounds about right. Do a used oil analysis on both at the 6 month mark, and if TBN and viscosity are holding up, that will serve as verification of the strategy.

I wouldn't go more than 10K without a used oil analysis but that's just me.

I'd run 6 months on the Mobil 1, like Pablo says.
If you're running Mobil 1 Extended Performance, I'd run what Mobil reccomends: 15K or 12 months.
What are your driving conditions?
How long is the drive to work or school in each car?
Do you idle for long periods?

Time intervals are best. Mileage driven is just a guideline as to quality level of oil which suits your intended time interval.
