Hello - long time lurker, first time poster. I have come across a decent amount of Mobil SHC 632 gear oil (also says ISO VG 320 on the tag). From what I've read on Mobil's site they say this is synthetic and for use in heavy duty industrial gearboxes. With that in mind - here's the question:
Does anyone know if I could use this in a rearend / differential application? I currently run two circle track cars - both full floating Ford 9" rearends - seems like the 9" is pretty resilient to abuse (IE if it has oil it keeps going). It would probably just be used for one season and then discarded - with synthetic gear lube currently hovering in the $10/qt range this would be a substantial savings if it will work.
Thoughts? Opinions? Thank you!
