Mobil make the only 0w-30?

Thinking about running ow-30 in my Toyotas this winter. Does Mobil make the only 0w-30wt. or am I just missing it on the shelf somewhere?

German Castrol, though that's a pretty thick 30 weight oil whereas the Mobil 1 0w30 is pretty thin.

Honestly I don't think it's a very large market because most people interested in fuel economy, cold starting, thin oils would drop to a 20 weight.

There is Castrol 0W30, it is made in Germany. Not everyone carries it though.

GC (German Castrol) carried by PebBoys, AutoZone, and on the internet by European Oil.

Amsoil Signature 0w-30, although unlikely it will be on store shelves.

Oh Man! duh! I forgot about Amzoil. A fella I know is running 0-30 M1. I might be able to pick up Amzoil at local Fleet Farm-think I saw it there once,but not sure about 0-30wt.

Liqui Moly (Lubro Moly) has a 0w30 grade. I think most NAPA stores carry it.

Redline makes a 0w-30, too.

I don't think the 0w30 took off like ExxonMobil hoped that it would. BITOGers know that it should and would work great in any of the multitide of vehicles out there recommending xW-30. But folks don't seem to have voted with their wallet on this one. Oddly, M1's 0w30 is the grade that almost all Walmarts stock in the jugs.

M1's 0W-20 seems to me to be a far more appropriate mass-market 0W oil, since many vehicles actually DO recommend 0W-20, either in the owner's manual or retroactively with a memorandum. Oddly, few places sell the 0W-20 in the popular jug size.

There are two classes of 0w30s, really: "light" resource-conserving grades (HTHS 3.0ish) and "heavy" performance-oriented ones (HTHS 3.5ish).

Do you know WHO blends this for them, or who's base stocks (and what types), and which VIIs, they use for this??

Would you happen to know the HTHSV of this brew? (Yeah, I know, it's 'only' 7 points higher on the V.I. than the great RL, but I am curious about this stuff.)

^^^Is this a 'semi-synthetic' blend, or at least a FULL group 3/3+/GTL base stock?

It would have to be at least a blend. There are no mineral-only 0w30 oils.
