mobil clean 7500

is the mobil clean7500 best synthetic blend that there is?i would like to know that what would be best synthetic blend available?i was thinking mobil clean 7500 or shell semisynthetic 10w40 would be best synthetic blend that there is.if someone knows better synthetic blend oil,please let me know

I think it is just called Mobil 7500. Rumour has it that it is all Group III base oil. I like it for the price.

Nah, it is Mobil Clean 7500. So if it's Group III, that puts it on the same level as regular Syntec, for almost half the price? I think it's $2.68 in the 1 quart bottles at the local Wally's World.

I understood the 7500 to be Group III with a little PAO thrown in. That would make the base oil better than that in U.S. market Syntec.

It seems that EOM refuses to follow the FTC "synthetic" bandwagon in marketing its products.

Last I heard around here, even the 5000 was an all Group III base - quite a nice oil at the price.

I believe Mobil7500 is group II basestock with about 10% group III , not worth the price. Many people think Mobil 5000 is all group III basestock .... its not. I challenge anyone on BITOG to prove to me that mobil5000 is all group III basestock. Either go all synthetic or just use HAVOLINE which outpreforms Mobil 1 in regards to wear.

Why don't you prove your Group II position first, since you seem to be a minority of one on it.

I recall Carpy first disclosing the inside details on the new EOM oils nearly a year ago.

I don't know if this is absolutely true, but wouldn't it make sense that Mobil 7500 is a blend of Mobil 5000 and Mobil 1 Extended Performance? This is just an educated guess, so please don't flame me. Anyway, I have this in one of my Hondas now and it seems to have quieted the piston slap a bit. Also, please refer to the used oil analysis of Mobil 7500 - it looks pretty good. There's a lot of sodium, though, which makes me think that there's Mobil 5000 in there somewhere.

Its a ballpark figure, but odds are the 7500 is 75% 5000 and 25% EP. Seems to fit the mileage numbers pretty good.

I have had this in my 05 Accord 2.4L now for 3300 miles. I have my Blackstone kit waiting for the 5000 mile mark. I am planning to get the TBN to see if it will go the 10000 miles Honda claims. So far it has been silky smooth. The smell is very similar to Castrol GTX and Syntec Blend. Must be whatever is in the sodium package.

First, there is no "best". Different cars will like different oils. Trying to find the "best" is a somewhat silly and certainly expensive proposition. Find something that works well and stick with it.

FWIW the 7500 showed excellent results in my '00 Civic EX for a 5,000 mile run.

And I believe that this is purely a statement of personal opinion, lacking any factual content.

We've been thru all this before - Mobil states that Clean 7500 is a synthetic blend. This means PAO, as mineral base oils do not meet ExxonMobil's definition of synthetic.
