Mobil 5w 30

What is the difference between Mobil 1 5w30 and Mobil 1 5w30 Truck and SUV. The Truck and SUV bottle says it has special antiwear additive. What is the additive?

My GUESS is that the T+SUV version is not subjected to the more stringently Gov't. castrated regular oil.
So they can use a bit more of regular additives. But a new one? I don't know.

I have wondered about this as well. Might just be a bit thicker blend like a high mileage oil.

They should make a label set that can interchange...Mobil 1 car ,Mobil 1 truck....small engine formula...Mobil 1 Snowthrower....Police and Taxi Long Idle Blend..etc.

Mobil 1 Truck and SUV is for use in Trucks and SUV's.....

This is the answer i got a while back when trying to figure this out.

"Mobil 1 took their standard 5w30 oil, increased the boron, moly, and antioxidants to handle higher heat, higher load, and called it Mobil 1 Truck and SUV. It is not a High Mileage oil."

I think the adds are a little better in the suv,try the search and check VOAs of both
