Yep, that's why many suggest at least one UOA at 10k even on extended drain oils. Short trip M1 EP to death and I doubt you'd want to run it 15k, same for gold bottle Edge or anything similar IMO.
My wife's badly short tripped KIA minivan had gold bottle Edge down to a TBN of only 1.8 in 7k. THAT is why you do UOA's.
Interesting. How many months was it in service? Was this the EDGE advertised for 15k mi?
There is the 1 year or 15k postulation for M1 EP that I assume is meant to account for short trips. If you short trip a lot you will reach the 1 year long before you reach 15k mi.
It was the original gold bottle, not advertised for 15k but still their best lube at the time. I don't remember how long it was in, it wasn't a year though.
I believe Mobil like most everyone includes the magic "up to" words in their 15k verbage.
