Mobil 1 vs Royal Purple

How would you guys compare Mobil 1 (silver cap) to Royal Purple 15W40?

It`s in my Z. It`s my only car/daily driver. Everyone in town was out of my usual Mobil 1 silver cap 15W50,so I grabbed RP 15W40. So I thought I`d try it for my winter fill along w/ an Mobil 1 oil filter. Car is never raced or driven hard.

I'll elaborate...I used the Royal Purple Racing 41 which is the "top shelf" product. It sheared to a 30 weight and I have horrible wear metals in the UOA. Never again.

I'll elaborate. I use RP 5w20 in a mazda6 that is driven hard and the oil is tortured. I got excellent results over 7,500 miles and still had a 6.9 TBN to boot. No shearing or anything. Excellent product.

So far so good with the RP. The main thing I`ve noticed so far is that my oil pressure remains constant without dropping (but stock oil pressure guages are usually not 100% accurate).

Cant speak for the weight but I have used both Mobil 1 and RP 5w30. Got better results with RP and maintained weight without shearing.
