Mobil 1 Truck and SUV is now 5W30?

I was just at Walmart and saw that this oil is no longer a 5W40. It's now a fricking 5W30. That doesn't work for me (and I'm sure many others). Now I have to go back to using "the inferior" Rotella T syn 5W40. Anyone know why Mobil went and messed with it?

Prob because more trucks and suv are using 5w 30 more often now. then the 5w40 version.

Quite a few threads on this if you do a bit of searching. But Mobil does still make the Mobil 1 5W-40, but now it's named "Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40".

Some folks have had difficulty finding it at WalMart...while others report that their WalMart stocks both it and the new Mobil 1 Truck & SUV 5W-30.

I think, currently, we all are asking that question.

What we need is a VOA to see the add pack & if the viscosity is a lite 30 weight, or a somewhat more beefy 11+ cSt.

Mobil 1 sure is playing this flavor of the week thing to an extreem. Seems like poor marketing to me. Every OCI you'd have to decide which oil fits your application because the one you were using is off the market.
