mobil 1 syn. and oil filter.

Hey guys. Im new here.

I have a question.

Im using Mobil 1 full syn. oil and i use a mobil 1 oil filter. it is ok. If i change my oil at 4K? I run my car pretty hard at times. and I race sometimes. any input would be great.

4000 miles is a pretty safe interval with Mobil 1, in many cases it'll go twice as long as that or more. At 5000 miles in my wife's Honda, the Mobil 1 still looked to be able to go twice as far. Oxidation was only 17%, TBN was 9 and the wear metals looked pretty good. And this was the old formula Mobil 1.

The rule of thumb I like to use:

If using Conventional oil...always follow the "severe" schedule.

If using Synthetic...just use the "Standard" oil change schedule.
