Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10w40

Can Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10w40 be used in a older V8 with flat tappets that need the high zinc oil? From what I've read, 4T has ~1700ppm zinc. Cost is not a factor as oil is changed once/year.

If its not recommended to use only 4T, could it be mixed with passenger car oil to increase the zinc level?

Yeah you can use it in that engine without any worries. The worst that could happen is some seals may leak some if they are old and have only had conventional oils for a long time.

Or, use the Mobil 1 High Mileage 10w40, with seal conditioners and 1200 PPM zinc and phosphorous.

Or even cheaper use a 15w40 HDEO.
