Mobil 1 Product data sheets ?

I was trying to compare Mobil 7500/5000 to Mobil 1 in 5w30 & 10w30. Mobil 1 has removed the Product Data Sheets for those grades for Mobil 1. Could they be changeing the formulation since the introduction of their new oils?? Anyone?? Ed

I believe they are in the process of updating to reflect SM/GF4. The Mobil 1 10W30 PDS has already been updated is currently posted on their website.

Sully: The PDS for Mobil 1 10w30 & 5w30 is not availiable as of 2 minutes ago. Their site says " NOT AVAILIABLE"

A little manual editing of the 0W-40 PDS URL gets you the following, which isn't linked to in the 5w30 page (strange). It is current (GF-4) and does state the higher viscosity of 11.3 cSt at 100ºC.

I noticed the 11.3 cST, anyone know when that change was made? I thought it used to be 10.x

Hmm, the copyright on the bottom says 2001. Has 5W30 been 11.3 that long ago?

Makes sense to me. The Mobil 1 5w30 is recomended a factory fill for "Chevrolet Corvette, Cadillac, Mercedes Benz AMG, Porsche, Dodge Viper, and Dodge Ram SRT 10."
So maybe they are beefing that grade up?

I'm not sure when they changed it, but the used oil analysis on the API SL Mobil 1 5w30 after 3700 miles measured at a SUS viscosity of 60.2, which is about a cSt of 11. The bottles were from different lots. It could have thickened, but the consensus seems to be that SS Mobil 1 5w30 is extremely shear stable. All oil companies say they reserve the right to "improve" their product from time to time, so it could have been a different than what was in the old PDS.

BTW - All their product data sheets have the same boilerplate footer.

The date is 2-2005, which is correct. They did increase the viscosity and flash point. VI is up also.
