Holy moly - imported products! This is a question that few if anybody here wil be able to answer. A book by Daniel Yerin titled "The Prize" is an interesting read on this subject - the history of the Oil Industry and the movement of products worldwide!

It would be a wild guess but the list could include additives from Europe, crude to produce the Group III from Canada, South America, or the Middle East. All formulated, manufactured, and blended in the USA.
Highly doubt anything used in Mobil 1 comes from China that is sold in this country.

No idea Johnny. But if we look all the way back to the most basic starting materials, then virtually every product we consume has some foreign content (except my home grown tomatoes!)

And if they are using Infineum additives, they too would be coming from the U.K. I also think they have a blending facility in France.
Most motor oils probably use domestic and imported components. Shell/Amsoil uses XOM bases oils and Infineum additives as well.

Hard to avoid. Whatever is stamped on the box, much of the stuff we buy contains at least some China made content. Not so relevant for oils, but when you get into consumer goods like electronics (especially), it may be assembled in the USA - but everything inside may, and often is, made in China.

I once grew many types of tomatoes, and trust me they also originated elsewhere LOL.. I even grew out varieties from the USDA seed repositories.. to test seed for both matching characteristics, and validity.. I enjoy a good mator sandwich as much as anyone does as well...

I once grew many types of tomatoes, and trust me they also originated elsewhere LOL.. I even grew out varieties from the USDA seed repositories.. to test seed for both matching characteristics, and validity.. I enjoy a good mator sandwich as much as anyone does as well...

There`s always RP,bottles made in Schulenberg,TX and the oil itself is made in Porter,TX. Their PAO I`ve been told comes from Chevron,the rest,I`m not sure. But it`s the most American made oil I can think of at the moment.
But where did the plastic come from that the bottles are made out of? And the list goes on.
The only thing I own that I can say is 100% USA made is my SAS shoes, as I watched them make them in person at the factory in San Antonio, TX. For those that don't know, SAS stands for San Antonio Shoes. Great company.

Just found three locations near where I live that sell their shoes. Sorry to be off topic.

True, since the tomato originated in Peru I guess they are all foreign derived. I grow heirlooms from my own saved seeds in NJ dirt, so that's about as American as it gets.

As the others are saying, don't worry about Chinese products in oil. I think the Chinese import all their petroleum needs and export little or nothing. What is on the Mobil 1 bottles might be there so they can shop around the world for the ingredients they need...one item is cheaper in the U.S. this year, cheaper in Europe last year, and they don't have to change labels.

I think China owns Volvo now, they are a very interesting country that like to lend money.
