As predicted by others in this thread, fraud by the Seller.

Seller reported to Walmart oil was delivered by USPS to my mailbox just hours after order placed. To receive refund, I had to call Walmart, unable to get refund processed online.

Took about 20 minutes on the phone to get refund. I suspect seller does this, and hope five percent of the buyers are too lazy to initiate refund which requires a phone call.

A key discussion word during the refund request was "third party seller" by the call center employee.

Anytime it seems to good to be true, with these 3rd party sellers (listed on WM, Amazon, etc), it actually is too good to be true.
These scams are looking to get your info via the purchase (shipping address, which is often your home/billing address, as well as your CC info), and then commit CC fraud.

Come on guys; are you really that gullible? 5 qrts of M1 for $8? What is this ... 1982?

There was a similar deal on SuperTech 5w-30 the other evening. I ordered a few. Within two hours, the order showed delivered to my house 6 hours before I even placed the order. Walmart CS made it right, but I knew it was too good to be true.
how did they make it right?

my order showed shipped within 2 hours but the tracking number shows that it has been in transit since July 8th...

that's a great point, I thought the payment processing was through Walmart, therefore Walmart pays them? that would be the only way Walmart could quickly refund the payment method without waiting for the 3rd party, like Amazon does.

Well, it was delivered a few hours after I ordered, so I'm going to go with scam. Payed with PayPal, so not too worried. Dice rolled!

I don't believe walmart sends the CC info to 3rd party marketplace sellers. The transaction is sent but not the cc data. That is the whole point of the secure transaction platform - walmart.com, amazon, ebay etc.

They do get your name and address. Not sure how that helps them because if you own a home its already on your counties website.

This whole fraud stuff confuses me on what these sellers are trying to accomplish.

Not all Walmart too-good-to-be-trues really are.

There was this deal last spring, so it’s not far fetched. I only ordered, and received, three cases at the time. Price was pretty similar to the present proposal.

I bought a bunch, but it was shipped and sold by walmart, not 3rd party.

There was a similar deal with Edge as well.

Yeah a few of us got that deal. Partially why it's worth rolling the dice. Refund initiated through chat. I actually just got rid of the last of the few cases I got. Switched to HPL!
