Just noticed this when I was scanning prices for PUP on the Walmart website. It says retail is $44.70 (!!!) so this seems like a good buy for someone looking for this specific formula.

I believe that is the normal price. I actually bought this for $23.xx the other day at a Walmart near me.

It's probably $49.99 at AutoZone/AAP/O'Reilly's. And sadly I've seen many people come in a and elect to purchase it at full price, because they "don't need an oil filter". Yet by adding the oil filter their price would've been $39.99 total. People are terrible at math these days. And terrible at common sense too, if they buy motor oil anywhere but WalMart.

Excuse my typo..... Tough crowd here today, as usual. In my mind, anything $25-$30 is a relatively good value in the upper tier of oils available at Walmart.

This isn't a well-positioned product. Most of the MB folks will need a 229.52 approval which this product does not have; it only has 229.51.
Most of the newer VAG products specifying 504/507 require a 0W-30.

So it requires a specific winter rating? You’re saying I’m in trouble if I use an oil with VW 504 00 approval but it has a 5W winter rating?

I’d love to see a dealer check an oil for a particular winter rating.

I used to buy this oil for my Tiguan but when it disappeared from the shelves at my Walmart I switched over to ESP. A bonus has been that the engine appears to consume less of the ESP than it did Euro L.
