Hi everyone,

I was changing my oil today and had decided to just purchase a Wix as apposed to getting my normal M1 filter. Well when I pulled the M1 filter out I noticed the holes that the oil passes through are quite smaller than the ones on the Wix. Almost seemed like it could restrict oil pressure to me. Any ideas if thats the case, or are the M1 filters just designed really close to tolerance?

Go look at the inside diameter of the thing the filter screws onto vs the size of the holes and you will find the small holes when added up are larger than the pipe it screws onto.

Agree with Chris142 ... both have adequate base hole area for good flow and no effect on pressure drop. WIX/NAPA Gold have about the largest holes I've seen in a filter.
