Mobil 1 clean 5000 Miles

I am going to start Auto-Rx treatment,so I was looking for a medium quality conventional oil. How is Mobil 1 clean 5000 miles oil ?

I have been using Mobil 1 10W30 synthetic ,Quaker state synthetic prior to this

I think it is a great oil, but to be correct it is "Mobil Clean 5000", "Mobil 1" is the synthetic products. This is what I chose to break my new 22RE engine in with, but I suspect there are many that are its equal and possible several that are better but it certainly isn't low quality oil.

Exxon superflo I heard is almost identical, except a lot cheaper.

M C 5000 would be fine for an ARX run. It hasn't shown great results on its own, however.

I agree, look for the cheapest SM-rated conventional oil for your short ARX run. Every time I've done ARX, I've used SuperTech regular and had good results...

What have you been doing wrong?

Why would you need an Auto-Rx using Mobil 1 and Quaker State Synthetic?

What vehicle/engine/odometer reading?
How long are your typical OCIs?

Mobile Clean 5000 is certainly a valid option, any major brand conventional oil is good for both the clean & rinse phases.

Anytime after 30K miles is a good time to do an Auto-Rx treatment.

Auto-Rx will clean the piston rings & grooves, an area where fuel related blow-by can leave deposits, something that will happen regardless of the oil in the crankcase.

As mentioned above, I'm not understanding why you would need to do an Auto-Rx treatment if you've been using a good quality synthetic oil?

A while back, I remember Frank said Mobil Clean 5000 was not recommended as a Auto RX rinse oil because of it's ester content. He did recommend Castrol GTX or just about any other conventional oil.

Are these the same esters that are the GRP Vs?

I do not know what caused it . Mobil 1, or 1/3 can of seafoam which I had run for 400 miles before changing to Mobil 1 . However I noticed it after 2nd change to Mobil 1 .Although leak is very small but since it is a manual car I do not want the oil on clutch parts which people tell me is a possibility.

For Rinse phase I can switch back to GTX but for first application itself how is this oil . Are these esters same as what is there in Auto RX. Am I right in saying that

My comment was "anytime after 30k miles is a good time for Aut-Rx" and it was not stated as an absolute necessity.

Depending on the engine, driving cycle, and gasoline quality, deposits from a combination of fuel blowby & volatized crankcase oil can form in the high heat area of the lower piston ring grooves.

Auto-Rx is a great product for getting into the piston ring area & dissolving deposits and insuring good ring seal.
