Mobil 1 ATF date codes

Picked up some AFT which looks a bit dated. (1 Liter canada bottle) Code on bottle is: H 105 8 07:57

Any guesses on this code?

Tried to search this but no info. Seems the modern bottles have std dates on the codes so easy to read

as long as it's sealed the shelf life is fine... it's not like a battery where you want it fresh as possible...

(only if it was open container then i would toss it out this includes motor oil or other lubricant ,(excluding coolant since hot/cold cycles wear it out) unless non cultural part type deal then it will not matter much)

this means it may have absorbed water etc..



make sure it's the correct for your transmission though.. if you think it's 'old'

Surely ATF would be the same as the oil as far as date code..? Oil decodes this way:

Example: 10115J 23A 5887C

The first three numbers (101) are useless. The next two numbers are the year, followed by the month letter (January=A, March=C, skipping I, December=M), followed by the day of the month (25 is the 25th day). Then the A 5887C.

When trying to find my date codes, I overlooked the date code probably 30 times. It's very hard to see on the back center of the bottle and is easily overlooked without the correct lighting.

These are packaged in Canada bottles. Likely by Imperial oil, who must use their own date code formula. I have one bottle from, 2016, that shows a "plain english" date code

I didn't know Canada had different codes/suppliers. I guess I should have...
