Oil Analyzers did this analysis on Mobil 1 5W-30 super syn. My car is a Mazda 626 with a 2.0L 4 cyl engine. The oil filter was a Mobil 1.
Time on oil 6 months. Miles on oil 3,735. Miles on car 28,856. City driving 70%, highway 30%.

Iron 20
Chromium 3
Lead 1
Copper 18
Tin 0
Aluminum 6
Nickel 0
Silver 0
Silicon 49
Boron 169
Sodium 19
Magnesium 33
Calcium 3,039
Barium 0
Phosph 1,096
Zinc 1,329
Moly 86
Titanium 0
Vanadium 0
Potassium 0
Fuel VIS@100C 10.27 cSt
Water 0
Glycol Neg
TBN 5.25
Oxid 39.0
Nitr 33.0

I would appreciate comments about this test. Overall I think it looks good. I am unsure how to interpret the TBN, Oxid and Nitr figures. Can anybody help me there? The viscosity looks like it is on the thin side of 30W.
I changed the oil, but if I am interpreting this test right I could go a lot longer than I did. What do you think?
BTW this is my first oil analysis.

Iron is high, but lead is excellent. TBN shows a lot of life left in the oil. The oil thickend a bit, but nothing abnormal. It's a good report but your Iron is too high for this many miles I would think. Try using a better Oil filter. M1 are very restrictive. I'd go with a K&N filter.

ZDDP is higher then normal too. Does anyone know why we see ZDDP levels in Mobil 1 above 1K sometimes? Thats against API limits.

As Buster mentioned-iron is kind of high. Although your silicon coul be from sealant in your engine-I would check the intake filter and the duct going to the intake. This could be part of the cause of your iron. Actually-I think this viscosity is about what we are seeing for UOA for Mobil 1. The zinc is way up there. What oil was in there before??

The last two oil changes were both Mobil 1 5W-30. The same as this oil. The air filter is a Fram that has about 8,000 miles on it. Thanks for the input.
