1st oil analysis on my used 2003 Suburban. This oil was changed and Mobil 1 Extended Performance was used. I have run a Amsoil bypass on my diesel VW and was thinking of adding one to this vehicle as well.

Looks good. If a bypass is worth it to you, by all means... go for it!

It's a good lookin report. Is this regular M1?

This new oil looked like it would have gone 10K no problem. Did you do the 8000+ miles on a short time? I would expect the EP to show worse numbers/mile unless you extend the drain to at least 12K.

That looks very possible, especially if you go with a bypass. Good report. What's the driving regime like (e.g. short hops, long hauls, etc.)

This is the family car. Trips to grocery store are short (6 mi roundtrip) and typically 2 per week at most. Otherwise, it goes 25-70 mile roundtrips and on vacations and typically mileage is around 500 miles every two weeks.

Just got my second oil analysis back from Oil Analyzers. As indicated in the subject, the oil is Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W-30 and was not changed this time. I have not added the bypass filtration and still am up in the air as to its value in this application. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Looks good. Na is a bit concerning. Where is that coming from?

Tbn is good. Notice it stay about the same from the 8k mile previous OCI.

PB went up pretty significantly, and visc is less than what I would like considering the EP was only run 2700 more miles. It's just bearly a 30W oil at 9.6.. but I suppose considering it's only 10.5 to start with that it's survived fairly nice overall..

TBN is nice too.

what sort of conditions was this run under?

The car is my wife's daily driver. See's predominately short trips of 3-12 miles (grocery store, park, playground, etc) and was used for a couple of longer trips over the past 10 months (Florida vacation, North Carolina hospital). We are in Douglasville, GA outside of Atlanta.

Sounds like it's held up very nicely in that case. I would say with my limited knowledge that this is a very nice UOA, and you should try 1-2K more next time even!
