First analysis I've had done on our minivan.

Purchased the van in 2002 with approximately 53,000 on the odometer. Did regular oil changes with conventional oil at approximately 3000 mile intervals until August 2005.

With approximately 116,000 miles on the van, I did the recommended Auto-RX treatment for vehicles with over 100,000 miles. Continued to run conventional oil at 3000 mile intervals until December of 2007.

At approximately 165,000 miles, I switched to Mobil 1 with changes at approximately 5000 mile intervals. This analysis was done between the second and third oil changes using the new oil and change interval.

Pay no attention to the engine being listed as a Ford 3.3 liter on the analysis report. It's a Chrysler engine. Oh, and I didn't realize I "had style and dependability with this Grand Voyager"!

Almost exactly four months. From April 5, 2008 until August 3, 2008.

Van gets mixed usage. My wife has a short commute to work, but we do rack up 50-75 miles in short trips quite often.

That is weird that the TBN dropped that low in such a short time frame...this obviously wasn't Mobil 1 EP. Definitely the Mobil signature FE spike is there, but still looking quite good for wear. Good to see Blackstone keeps kicking out the killer prose...I think they make their test techs submit a creative writing sample before cutting them loose.

High mileage motors tend to have significantly more blow-by, which rapidly depletes the add package - I see nothing surprising here. I'd stick with 6000 mile OCI's due to the total solids level of 0.4% in this sample, which reflects that contamination.

The silicon level is marginally high - it should ideally be < 10 ppm for this short a run. Otherwise everything is nominal with this data.

I use the standard Mobil 1 in all of my cars. It's just easier on this old brain to buy one brand of oil, as opposed to trying to remember to which oil goes in which vehicle.

My plan with this mini-van is to continue on the 5500-6000 intervals. When it gets to 200,000 miles, I'm planning on having the oil and the tranny fluid analyzed, so that I have some idea what's going on internally in both. The body and interior of the van are in fairly good shape.

If the engine and tranny are relatively strong at 200K, we'll plan on keeping it for a few more years as a daily driver for my wife.
