I live where it rarely freezes, OCI 5,000 miles, Motorcraft filter at each oil change. Car is a '00 Ford Crown Victoria with 125,000 miles. Which is better, the price is the same?

Why there is very little difference between the two oils the 10w-30 has better ratings and would be what I would use in Texas. Only difference in my opionion might be in economy but so small would be difficult to measure.

Living in Texas, I often use 5w-30 in winter and 10w-30 in summer, but there is really not that big of a difference. Now if you asked if the formulation of Mobil 1 was different than 5 years ago... [runs for cover]

You don't have a turbo to beat up the oil. The 5W-30 would do fine. It is shear stable. Use it, save gas, save startup wear, and don't look back.
