Mobil 1 10W-40 HM Meets What?

Mobil 1 10W-40 High Mileage meets the latest SN (and SM/SL) spec('s) while the 5w30 and 10w30 weights only meet the SL. Why is that?

Yes, this has been answered a bunch of times previously. Basically, API SM/SN imposes much stricter add pack limits on Xw-30 grades, that's why HM 5w30 and HM 10w30 grades aren't able to meet the spec.

40-weight oils have higher limits on Phosphorous (zddp content) than 20 & 30-weights. Because Mobil's High Mileage oils have 1000ppm of Phos, the 30's can only meet the limit of API SL.
